Elaine Sharp  -  Producer and Director 

After graduating from Columbia University, Elaine began her career in investigative journalism at PBS/WNET in New York working with the twice Oscar-nominated Producer Roger Weisberg.  She has been based in the UK, USA and Italy and  made documentaries and content over the last two decades in more than  twenty countries for major international Broadcasters including: BBC, ITV, Channel 4 Television, Channel 5, Discovery Channels International, A&E, ABC Network, PBS/WNET, Mediaset/RTI and Fox Channels International Italy. She is a member of  Women in Film & Television UK and is a Sheffield DocFest's Future Producer School Alumni. 

Elaine's career includes producing and directing observational documentaries, history, travel, biography, news & current affairs, environmental, and health programmes. She has produced programmes using dramatic-reconstructions, actuality, presenter-led, interview and archival-based programmes mixed with graphics. She specialises in international co-productions and overseas location filming. She has led creative and production teams across continents and multiple cultures chasing relevant, often shocking stories that impact our world today.

Elaine’s  international production credits include: “World Food Day: Adapting to Climate Change in Bangladesh” (Producer/Director) for The United Nations; “The World’s Richest People” (Director) for Discovery Channel; “Mussolini’s Dirty War” (Supervising Producer) for RT1/Mediaset/ History Channel and Fox Channels International Italy; episodes of “The Baby Whisperer” (Director/Camera) for Discovery Channel; “World Birthday” (Director/Producer/Camera - Germany) for Discovery Channel;  and as a Producer on the multi-award-winning “The Lonely Planet" series for Channel 4 Television/Discovery USA.
